About.
The Letters.
Taldoren Letters is an independent editorial publication based in London. The publication focuses on the everyday relationship between food, mood, and the habits that shape how people eat.
What This Publication Covers
Taldoren Letters documents the quieter, less-examined patterns in eating behaviour: the reach for food during stressful afternoons, the habits that form around weekend routines, the difference between physical hunger and the kind that arrives after a long day.
The publication does not offer plans or prescribed regimes. It offers observation, context, and the kind of writing that helps readers slow down and notice what is already happening at their own table.
Each article is written with a commitment to evidence-informed thinking. Where relevant, contributors reference published behavioural research. Where research is absent, writers rely on careful observation and documented interviews.
The editorial team reviews all submissions against a consistent standard: accuracy, clarity, and respect for the complexity of everyday eating life.
The Editorial Team
Eleanor Ashcroft
Eleanor has written about the intersection of behaviour and food habits for over a decade. Her work draws on published research in behavioural nutrition and her own documented observations of changing eating environments in urban settings.
Tobias Marsden
Tobias contributes long-form pieces on eating rhythms, distracted eating, and the social contexts that shape portion awareness. His writing is noted for its measured, observational register and careful sourcing.
Phoebe Caldwell
Phoebe's contributions focus on the practical: food journalling, attention at mealtimes, and the weekend patterns that often differ markedly from weekday routines. She writes from a background in applied behavioural research.
What Guides the Work
Taldoren Letters accepts no commercial sponsorship and carries no advertising. The publication's independence is its primary asset. No contributor is affiliated with any food industry body, commercial wellness brand, or supplement retailer.
Where published research on eating behaviour, food and mood connection, or mindful portion awareness exists, contributors are expected to engage with it. Where it does not, they are expected to say so and proceed with careful observation rather than conjecture.
Errors in published articles are corrected with a visible note at the top of the piece indicating the date and nature of the correction. Corrections are not made silently. Readers may submit correction requests via the contact page.
The publication covers eating behaviour, food and mood connection, habitual snacking, distracted eating, and related topics. It does not cover acute nutritional matters or offer guidance on specific weight goals. Its scope is behavioural and observational.
The Editorial Process
Every article submitted to Taldoren Letters passes through a two-stage review. The first stage is a factual check: claims are traced to their sources, and any statement that cannot be sourced is either qualified or removed. The second stage is an editorial review for clarity, tone, and scope.
This process reflects the publication's position: that writing about eating behaviour responsibly requires the same care as writing about any other area of everyday life. The methodology behind this process is documented in full on the Methodology page.
